Robert has spent most of his working years in a creative industry. With a passion in botany he has created, and installed beautiful landscapes to fit the desired feeling the customer wants to achieve. Whether designing for a university, a major retailer, or numerous family homes he strives to select the materials that fit the needs of the customer and educate on care and maintenance. Robert has written plant education articles for magazines and websites. He’s given instructional classes to groups and individuals who desire to learn about flower, vegetable gardening, and care of house plants. He owned a garden and décor store which he used as a base to help promote the listed above achievements.
Robert’s design abilities cover many different areas including interior design. His design achievements include working on two different Denver Junior Symphony Guild Designer Showhome projects, and the main home for The Colorado Parade of Homes. He has created a loving home setting for a national McDonald’s commercial, and supplied the accessories and plants from his store for a PBS Designer Show Loft series.
His talents also cross over into sewing in areas including costume design/creation & home décor items such as pillows, cushions, drapes, & duvet covers. Robert learned most of his creative sewing skills from a Broadway costume designer who’s earlier career was being the apprentice for the Designer Bob Mackie. He has costumed many theatric performances as well for a modern dance troop whose famed chorographer was a dancer for the Martha Graham Dance Company.
Robert sold a line of greeting cards using his own photography, designed and sold a line of jewelry made out of natural materials, and been a part of designing and creating holiday themes for many Denver area shopping malls, office buildings, and large resorts in other cities such as Breckenridge & Vail in Colorado.
He has a strong passion for design no matter what area he crosses into, and worked on fix and flip homes from the ground up doing almost every repair job on the homes himself.
He has used his design talents and abilities to help others through many different charity events. Whether a fashion show or grand party, Robert used his design ability to create to perfect environment. He has also mentored over 30 local Denver artists to help get their work into retail environments, given talks to individuals, and a group at a university on how to start your own business.
